On May 4th 1997 the "King Cruiser" a big catamaran ferry sank near Anemone
Reef , one of
the famous dive spots in the near of Phuket. All people on
board was saved and now is the ship
a new attraction for divers from all over the world. The "King Cruiser"
is 85 m long , 25 m in width.
The upper deck is in 12 m depth , the maximum depth is
30 m .
Wreck diving at the "King Cruiser" is sometimes a part of the Southern
Tour, too . On my cruise to the Southern islands 1998 wreck diving
was not offered. It is depend on the current , we dived at shark point.
The wreck dives at the King Cruiser normally don't go inside the wreck , it's diving
at the wreck only.
On February 21st 1999 I had the luck to belong to a group of four divers which was allowed to dive
into the wreck. It is difficult to dive, because it's situated in the middle of the current.
Everything which be removed could, like doors, windowpanes, etc. is meanwhile away.
Nevertheless it's still another interesting dive.

Leopardsharks normally sleeps during the day on sandy soil. They
hunting by night. Thus it is luck to meet them active during a day
dive. Leopardsharks named Zebrasharks too, because the kids have stripes,
no points.
They reached a lenght until 2,3m , a part of literature means until
3,5m. The Leopardsharks I saw were between 1,5m and 2,5m long. They are
harmless too, but not so harmless like a whaleshark. I always mean,
it is a shark dangerous like a cow. If you don't make him angry, the shark
will not attack you.
In Thailand this sharks standing under conservation.
