The reefs of Hin Daeng / Hin Muang are destroyed since December 05th/06th 2001 by (forbidden) dynamite fishery. If this web pages tells about Hin Daeng/Hin Muang, I will no modification make.As memory and as a sign of hope that these reefs perhaps will recover.
Titan Trigger,Koh Racha Yai, Andaman Sea, January 31st 2004 Which concerns the Similan islands and in the north of it Koh bon, Koh Tachei and the Richelieu Rock, I believe to be able to realize it after 10 years (1994 to 2004), that its are one a good way. In 1994 I heard sometimes during nights the detonations of

Fishing is not allowed so that the four years ago still to seeing fleets of over 20 (small) fisherboats disappeared. There I pay gladly the national park fee.

But sometimes I feel a little bit melancholy when I remember, that in 1994 the the old diveship the Choksoda was waiting alone at a dive destination for the backcomimg divers.
Some years later there may be until three boats, today up to ten (Richelieu Rock).

The visibilities were in January/February 2004 so far correct, in the near of Phuket - thus during the day trips- were subject them the usual fluctuations, which may be connected here also with the tin dismantling in the near of the coast, what however will be stopped in near future(so "unterwasser" (german dive magazine),number 12, 2003 S.80). During the day trips I made end of January the visibility was between 0 in the first half hour Racha Yai Bungaloow Bay then it was better and 20 meters at Koh Bida Noc and Koh Bida Nai (both near Koh Phi Phi). The visibility at Anemone Reef,Sharkpoint and Koh Doc Mai ranged normal around the 10 to 12 meters. When then on the early morning of February 03.2004 the visibility began with 10 meters and soon it widened on over 40 meters (East OF Eden, Koh Similans), I knew that it was a good idea to book two liveaboards again.
